2 days of walking to go! My last walking partner, Bea, had an infection and fever from her blister. I stayed with her an extra day in the Sarria while she had doctor visits. She was so brave and basically had a minor surgery without anesthesia on her foot. Women are strong!! π I will see Bea is Santiago soon.
There is a magical thing happening here at the end where we start folding back together after being split up through our last month. Today I reunited with so many old friends and it seems that we will all arrive in Santiago on Monday & Tuesday. It will be very emotional.
Takeaways from this path so far that repeat in my mind over and over again....
1- The Camino shows you another way to live. It's about simplicity and basic needs being met. And when all the distractions of life are removed (because we walk) masks come off, we become connected and part of a family. Camino Family.
2- Nothing is as hard as losing our loved ones. Not even waking 500 miles.
Dang, Michelle. You're almost at the finish line. What an epic adventure! Does the lizard have a name? π¦
